PS Plus: come funziona, quanto costa, catalogo giochi

Le voci erano vere! Sony ha svelato il nuovo PS Plus (inizialmente Project Spartacus), ovvero il rivale diretto di Xbox Game Pass. 

Ora è ufficiale: il nuovo servizio in abbonamento di PlayStation combinerà PlayStation Plus e PlayStation Now e si chiamerà… sempre PlayStation Plus (Sony non brilla per la scelta di nomi accattivanti).

La compagnia sostiene che l’obiettivo di questo cruciale rinnovamento è di offrire ai giocatori titoli diversi e di prim’ordine. Il servizio, tuttavia, non sarà disponibile prima di qualche mese.

Allo stato attuale, PS Plus vi consente di giocare online e di accedere a una manciata di giochi gratuiti ogni mese. Il catalogo prevede titoli per PS4, PS5 e PSVR e offre ai suoi membri sconti e contenuti esclusivi. Una proposta che, in tutta franchezza, non è all’altezza di quella di Xbox Game Pass.

Da ormai qualche anno (era il 2017) Microsoft ha abbandonato il suo vecchio modello Xbox Live Gold sostituendolo con l’abbonamento a più livelli Game Pass.  Anche se le esclusive PlayStation rimangono tuttora il cavallo di battaglia di Sony, il divario tra PS Plus e Game Pass andava colmato. 

Con l’accesso anticipato, le prove di gioco e i nuovissimi titoli in arrivo al lancio di Game Pass, l’intero ecosistema Microsoft sembrava essere diventato più ricco e conveniente di quello Sony.  

Grazie alla proposta della più economica Xbox Series S, allo sviluppo di Cloud Gaming e Xbox All Access (che vi consente di pagare Xbox Series X/S a rate), Microsoft è riuscita nel notevole compito di rimuovere molte delle barriere finanziarie associate all’acquisto di console e videogame. 

Cerchiamo di capire in cosa consiste la risposta di Sony a Xbox Game Pass.

PS Plus: data di uscita

Il nuovissimo servizio in abbonamento PlayStation Plus arriverà a giugno. In tutto, offrirà tre diverse tariffe, anche se Sony si è riservata una quarta tariffa (Deluxe) per mercati selezionati di cui parleremo in seguito.

Non esiste una data di uscita specifica, a parte una “finestra di giugno” che innescherà il lancio del servizio in alcuni Paesi. La prima tranche prevede la diffusione nel mercato asiatico, seguiranno quello nord-americano, europeo e del resto del mondo.

Sony dice che il suo obiettivo è di rendere disponibile il nuovo servizio PlayStation Plus nella maggior parte dei Paesi entro la fine della prima metà del 2022. Quindi, idealmente, proprio alla fine di giugno.

PS Plus: prezzo

Il nuovo PS Plus andrà a unire PS Now e PS Plus in un unico servizio proponendo tre livelli di abbonamento, più un quarto livello chiamato PS Plus Deluxe. 

Il prezzo di PS Plus Deluxe non è ancora noto, ma si tratta di un'alternativa più economica rispetto PS Plus Premium che verrà diffusa nella regioni che non supportano il cloud gaming.

Al momento, Sony offre due servizi in abbonamento: PS Plus e PS Now. Ps Plus vi consente di giocare online e di accedere ogni mese a diversi giochi gratuiti. Il catalogo prevede titoli per PS4, PS5 e PSVR e offre ai suoi membri sconti e contenuti esclusivi. 

Ci sono anche 100 GB di spazio di archiviazione cloud e la funzione Share Play. PS Now vi permette invece di scaricare o eseguire lo streaming da una raccolta di giochi per PS4, PS3 e PS2 su PS5, PS4 e PC Windows. Ogni mese vengono aggiunti nuovi titoli. 

È possibile optare per un piano di uno, tre o 12 mesi per entrambi i servizi. In Italia, un abbonamento a PS Plus costa attualmente € 8,99 per un mese, €24,99 per il trimestrale e €59,99 per l’abbonamento annuale. 

L’abbonamento a PS Now costa invece € 9,99 per il mensile, €24,99 per il trimestrale e €59,99 per l’abbonamento annuale.

PS Plus: abbonamenti / tier

Il nuovo abbonamento a PlayStation Plus includerà tre livelli o tier: PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra e PlayStation Plus Premium.

Per i territori senza lo streaming cloud, sarà possibile abbonarsi a PlayStation Plus Deluxe, quarta variante disponibile a un prezzo inferiore rispetto a PlayStation Plus Premium. Un abbonamento PS Plus corrente sarà convertito al livello Essential e il prezzo resterà lo stesso.

• Vantaggi: gli stessi dei livelli Essential ed Extra con in più fino a 340 giochi aggiuntivi (oltre ai 400 dell’abbonamento Extra), tra cui titoli PS3 disponibili tramite streaming nel cloud e un catalogo di titoli classici di PlayStation, PS2 e PSP (disponibili sia in streaming che download)
• Versioni prova di giochi a tempo limitato, che permetteranno agli utenti di testare un gioco prima di acquistarlo 

PS Plus Deluxe (per mercati selezionati)

Sony deve ancora rivelare i prezzi di questo quarto livello, ma sappiate che riguarderà soltanto i mercati in cui lo streaming cloud non è disponibile. PlayStation Deluxe sarà accessibile a un prezzo inferiore a PlayStation Plus Premium.

In termini di servizi infine, includerà anche i vantaggi dei livelli Essential ed Extra, oltre al catalogo di giochi classici per PlayStation, PS2 e PSP da scaricare e versioni prova di giochi a tempo limitato.

PS Plus metterà a disposizione degli iscritti una libreria giochi iniziale che verrà ampliata nel tempo. Qui sotto trovate una lista parziale dei titoli che saranno accessibili al momento del lancio sia per gli abbonati Extra che per quelli Premium.

Gli iscritti a PS Plus continueranno comunque a ricevere dei giochi gratuiti ogni mese. Sony ha confermato che gli abbonati a PS Plus Essential e superiori potranno accedere a due giochi in omaggio il primo martedì di ogni mese. A differenza del catalogo Extra/Premium, questi giochi non scompariranno dalla libreria una volta riscattati (fino alla scadenza dell'abbonamento).

Il catalogo PS Plus cambierà nel tempo e alcuni giochi sono destinati a scomparire. Una volta usciti dal catalogo Extra/Premium, non sarà più possibile accedervi, anche se sono stati riscattati in precedenza.

Di seguito trovate i giochi che usciranno dal catalogo per gli abbonati Extra/Premium. Al momento nessun gioco ha ancora lasciato il nuovo servizio PS Plus, ma vi segnaleremo per tempo quando ciò avverrà. Di solito Sony avvisa i suoi utenti in anticipo, il che significa che avrete tutto il tempo di giocarci prima che ciò accada.
