Take those extra precautions

There are many who jumped ship to Telegram when WhatsApp started suggesting it would share user information with Facebook. If you're one of those people or just someone who uses multiple platforms, keeping your app secured and safe is always a top priority.

Telegram allows you to use Face and Touch ID to lock your app, this means that no one except for you can open it up and read your messages. This is particularly helpful as hackers love targeting Telegram.

Here is how you can set this up and keep your messages secure:

How to set it up

  1. Launch the app
  2. Go to settings
  3. Select Privacy and Security
  4. Choose Passcode and Face ID
  5. Put in a PIN code you're likely to remember
  6.  Tap to enable "unlock with Face ID" or "Unlock with Touch ID"
