One-minute review

Cleaning up wet spills is never fun, but the Eufy WetVac W31 makes it as easy as gliding over a spot, and seconds later it’s sparkling clean. The WetVac W31 is a rugged vacuum cleaner, and can handle all kinds of dirt and debris as well as challenges such as mud, spilled drinks, dried food, and more. It’s equipped with powerful suction for handling everyday dust and grime around your house, and can be tailored to work its magic on hard floors.

Its ability to handle both dry and wet messes makes it perfect for households with kids or pets. Powerful suction combined with a roller brush can tackle almost any stain, while a partitioned collection tank stores debris and dirty water. A quick spritz of water on the rollers helps to clean them as you’re vacuuming and also mop the area that you’ve just cleaned. A high-speed mode gets at tougher stains in fewer passes, so there’s less time spent going over a spot repeatedly.

Carpets can be a bit trickier to manage – getting a spill out of a carpet isn’t quite what this machine is designed for. There’s a dedicated carpet brush to help lift out stuck dirt from carpet fibers, but don’t expect to use the WetVac W31 to freshen your carpets in any way.

It can also get quite fiddly when it comes to cleaning the WetVac W31 – the dirt compartment never seems to stay dry enough, so you’ll almost always end up rinsing it out rather than tapping the dust into a garbage bin. The WetVac W31 is also very loud when performing its cleaning cycle when docked, so don’t expect to use this when someone is trying to watch TV peacefully.

Price and availability

The Eufy WetVac W31 is available now, and is priced at AED 1,999. You can buy it directly from Jumbo here.

Design

The WetVac W31 looks like any standard upright vacuum cleaner. Once you attach the handle to the main body, you’re ready to begin cleaning up.

At the front of the WetVac W31 are two tanks – one 600ml tank is for holding fresh water, and the other 550ml tank towards the bottom is to collect debris and dirty water. Each can be easily pulled out and filled or cleaned, before slotting back into the vacuum. Eufy also included a bottle of floor detergent to use with the WetVac W31 – just two small capfuls is enough for a full tank of water.

At the top of the handlebar, you have a button to switch the vacuum off or on as well as one to engage a high-speed mode for more stubborn stains. There’s also a button to adjust the vacuum’s voice prompts, and another to engage the self-cleaning mode.

A large display sits where the handlebar meets the vacuum body, and it’s where you’ll see most of the vacuum’s information such as remaining battery life and tank status. Oddly, the vacuum comes with a label on the display that indicates what each light is for, but if this label is removed or peels off, you’ll have to just rely on your memory or the voice prompts instead.

The WetVac W31 comes with two distinct roller brushes – by default the soft brush is installed for use on hard surfaces, but there’s also a carpet brush with bristles on it for digging dirt out of fibers. Replacing a brush is as easy as popping open the front cover and slotting your desired brush in. There are also included tools to clean the brushes or remove tangled hair or pet fur.

When not in use, the WetVac W31 rests in its docking station to recharge for a couple of hours. When docked, you can also activate the WetVac W31’s self-cleaning feature, which spends around 90 seconds rotating and washing the brush before drying it, all without any interaction required. It’s certainly a handy feature to have, and is recommended after every cleaning session.

Performance

Whether tackling spills or dust, the WetVac W31 does a good job of maneuvering around your home. Though it’s slightly on the heavier side, it’s still easy to navigate thanks to the pivoting head and wheels. The head can be a bit bulky to tuck into smaller spaces, so you may have to clean these tighter areas manually first. You should also keep in mind that the WetVac W31 is not designed to clean deep underneath furniture, as its cleaning head is unable to do this.

We submitted the WetVac W31 to a fair bit of abuse on our tiled floors to see just how good it could clean up. We started with dry debris such as sand, flour, and oats, and the WetVac W31 was able to gobble it all up off the floor. Even the space between the tiles was picked clean, which was often a sticking point with other vacuum cleaners.

Next we tried various spills such as milk, ketchup, cola, and even some baby food. All of it was cleaned up without a problem, though we have to note that you’ll need to remember to press the water spray trigger in order to spray fresh water on the roller brush to clean it as well as your floor.

Battery life on the WetVac W31 is around 35 minutes, which is enough time to clean a studio or small 1-bedroom apartment, but larger homes might struggle a bit, especially if you’re mopping at the same time. The WetVac W31 is great for a quick once-over in large spaces, or for tackling accidental spills. For cleaning a larger home you’ll want to tackle a few rooms or a floor at a time before having to recharge and then continue cleaning.

Post-cleaning, you’ll want to immediately clean the dirty water tank and debris as quickly as possible. This is where we ran into a bit of an issue – almost every time we found that any dirt that had been vacuumed up was also considerably wet, making it difficult to simply tip into the garbage. We had to wash out the debris instead manually, especially when it picked up on animal hairs which would become wet and effect the performance of the vacuum.

The vacuum also had a habit of leaking water from the head once it was turned off, so we ended up running the vacuum all the way to the docking station, turning it off, and then quickly docking it so that water would collect in the tray instead of on the floor.

The other thing to note about the WetVac W31 is that it’s quite loud, measuring around 72dB. That’s loud enough to drown out a TV at close proximity, and it makes the same amount of noise when it’s docked and running through its clean cycle. This is definitely a vacuum that you’ll want to have hidden away in the corner of the house where it can’t disturb anyone while it cleans itself.

Buy it if…

You frequently have spot messes
If your home often has spills and accidents on hard floors, then the WetVac W31 is a dream to use, sucking up pretty much anything and leaving your floors spotless.

You want a quick mopping solution
Being able to clean and mop a space simultaneously is a great timesaver, and you can see (and feel) the practical difference by cleaning with the WetVac W31.

You’ve got hard floors
If your home is mostly tiled, then you’ll have no issue cleaning with the WetVac W31. Area carpets can also be cleaned with the carpet brush, but hard flooring is where the WetVac W31 truly shines.

Don’t buy it if…

You want to clean under things
The WetVac W31 is not designed to go very far under furniture, so you’ll have to opt for a stick vacuum instead if you want to clean under beds or couches.

You don’t like getting your hands dirty
Cleaning out the WetVac W31 should be a straightforward process of emptying into a bin, but this is almost always not the case. You’ll often have to rinse out the dust bin or dislodge trapped hair and pet fur from deep inside it.
