Apple iPhone 14 series price in the UAE, availability and pre-orders

While the rumour mills might have shown a lot of what was to be expected at today's Apple event, surprises were abound none the less. As far as smartphones were concerned, Apple today announced the iPhone 14, a larger iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. 

While the Mini disappeared from the line-up, the four phones are all set to be on pre-order on September 9th. 

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus feature a 6.1" and 6.7" display respectively. Both models have an updated internal design for better thermal performance, Super Retina XDR displays with OLED technology that supports 1200 nits of peak HDR brightness, a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and Dolby Vision. The displays also feature the Ceramic Sheild for extra protection. 

As far as processing power goes, this time the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus maintain the same A15 Bionic from last year. The processor comes with the same 5-core GPU, 6-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine and the new Photonic Engine. 

The cameras on the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus get an updated 12MP main camera, a new 12MP true-depth camera and the same 12MP ultra-wide as last year. As far as software is concerned,  the phones get last year's Cinematic mode but also get the new Action mode for recording video while on the move. 

Other updates on both devices include iOS 16, the new Crash Detection safety feature and Emergency SOS via Satellite. 

The iPhone 14 will be available for AED 3,399 with 128GB, AED 3,799 with 256GB or AED 4649 for 512GB of storage. 

The iPhone 14 Plus will be available for AED 3,799 with 128GB, AED 4,199 with 256GB or AED 5,049 for 512GB of storage.

Pre-orders start on Friday 9th September at 4PM with iPhone 14 units being available a week later on Friday 16th September and iPhone 14 Plus units being available on October 7th. You have a choice of five colours for both the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus which are Purple, Blue, Midnight, Starlight and Product Red.

Looks wise, apart from the smaller notch (now known as the Dynamic Island), there isn't a major difference between the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max as far as the bodies are concerned. 

Display sizes on the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max remain at 6.1" and 6.7" respectively, surrounded by surgical-grade stainless steel and textured matte glass design in four stunning colours, namely Deep Purple, Gold, Silver and Space Black. 

The iPhone 14 Pro duo comes with Super Retina XDR 120Hz displays that has a peak brightness of 2000 nits. 

The camera on the Pro models truly goes 'Pro' this year. The main sensor on the gets a bump up to 48MP with a quad-pixel sensor. There's also a new Ultra-wide 12MP camera, with the same 12MP telephoto lens from last year. Another hardware update comes with the flash. You also get an updated 12MP front snapper too. 

Software updates like Action mode come to the Pro Models as well as improved computational photography. 

As far as processing power goes, the Pro models are the ones that see a hardware upgrade. The A16 Bionic chipset comes to both models. Performance gains comes from a new 6-core CPU and an accelerated 5-core GPU. 

The iPhone 14 Pro will be available for AED 4,299 with 128GB, AED 4,699 with 256GB, AED 5,549  for 512GB of storage or AED 6,399 for the 1TB storage model.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available for AED 4,699 with 128GB, AED 5,099 with 256GB, AED 5,949 for 512GB of storage or AED 6,799 for the 1TB storage model.

Pre-orders start on Friday 9th September at 4PM with bot being available a week later on Friday 16th September.
