What to watch this week: New movies and TV shows in the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain

Are you looking for the best shows to binge-watch or maybe the latest movies you can see at the cinema? We have a lot of great releases this week in cinemas and on streaming services, so worry not, as we give you the best movies and TV shows that you can watch this weekend.

The Minions are back as the prequel The Rise of Gru is heading to cinemas this week. Action lovers should also give Panama a shot, starring Mel Gibson and Clean, starring Adrien Brody. If you prefer to stay home in the weekend, you can also check out the war film Danger Close on Starz Play, and the new season of Westworld is also coming this week to OSN+.

 Minions: The Rise of Gru

This prequel tells the story of a young Gru as he tries to impress a group of supervillains called the Vicious 6 to join their elite team after the outing of their leader Wild Knuckles. When Gru is mocked, he steals from the Vicious 6 and finds an unlikely ally in none other than Wild Knuckles himself.

Mel Gibson stars in this action thriller about a defence contractor hiring an ex-marine to aid in an arms deal. Heading to Panama, the mission goes awry as the contractor unwillingly becomes part of the US invasion of the country.

 Clean

A guy named Clean lives a quiet life while seeking redemption from his past. While still troubled by previous events in his life, he continues to go past the torment and move on with his life. Unfortunately, his good actions get the attention of a crime boss, and he is forced to resort to violence to stay alive.

Clean is releasing in UAE and Saudi Arabia cinemas on June 30th

This sitcom, created by Regina Y. Hicks and Wanda Sykes, tells the story of an African American family living in Indiana. As part of the working class, it showcases how they can make ends meet and live life the right way without any hassles.

Season 2 is streaming on Netflix on June 29th

 NCIS: Hawaii

A spin-off of the popular NCIS franchise follows Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents investigating military and national security working out of Pearl Harbor. Led by Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant, they must use their skills to prevent external threats that could harm the country.

Season 1 is streaming on Starz Play on June 27th

 Danger Close
